Maria is a supervisor in the firm’s special needs practice, where she works with some of the largest and most progressive developmental and learning disabilities agencies in New York State.  She regularly serves as the “in-charge” on audit engagements, where she is responsible for helping to plan the audit, supervise the field staff and troubleshoot on technical issues.  Due to her extensive industry knowledge, she also provides specialized advisory services.   

In addition to her client engagements, Maria also serves as a Mentor to junior staff, where she works closely with one staff member throughout the year to ensure that her colleague receives the training and guidance necessary to be prepared to work directly on client engagements. 

Maria joined Loeb & Troper in 2001, when a friend who worked at the firm referred her. She holds an accounting degree from Queens College.   

When she is not working with special needs clients, Maria can been found going out to dinner and the movies.
